All of Our Patients Get the Best Quality Care
At The Doppler Centre, we pride ourselves on delivering the highest-quality service to all of our patients. We do this through committing ourselves to the principles of convenience, quality assurance, and scientific rigour.
To help ensure your time with us is as relaxed as possible, we have compiled some of the most commonly asked questions we receive below. If you would like any more information on these topics, or one that is not on our list, please do not hesitate to get in contact with our friendly team. You can find their details by clicking here.
How long will my scan take?
The majority of these scans will take around 40 minutes to complete, plus some time required for administrative purposes. In total, you can expect your appointment to take roughly 50 minutes.
Will my scan hurt at all?
No.
Vascular ultrasound is completely non-invasive meaning no needles, dyes, radiation or anesthesia. At The Doppler Centre, we take patient comfort very seriously. To help with this we provide state-of-the-art vascular ultrasound beds that can be moved into various positions to help ensure you’re comfortable at all times, particularly when scanning varicose veins. Some pressure may be felt when deep structures in the abdomen are being examined.
How much will my scan cost?
If your scan meets Medicare criteria, we will bulk bill you. This means no out of pocket cost. If your scan does not meet Medicare criteria, then we will provide you with a quote at the time of your appointment.
Is there parking? If no, how much does it cost?
We have easy to access, free onsite parking for our patients. During busy times there are parking attendants who will guide you to a free parking spot.
How quickly will I get my results?
Once the images have been taken, and Dr Pankaj Jha has viewed and provided analysis, a report will be sent to your referring practitioner within 24-hours.
How do you ensure the best quality?
At the Doppler Centre, we provide ONLY vascular ultrasound services. This means 100% of our attention, education, skill and equipment is dedicated to providing the very best vascular ultrasound services.
Every one of our sonographers has undergone specialised vascular ultrasound training. Sonographers are also overseen by Vascular Surgeon, Dr Pankaj Jha.
Quarterly training and education is provided to the entire Doppler Centre team to ensure standards are up to date and employ the very best techniques and technology available.
Do I need to prepare for my ultrasound?
For most vascular ultrasound services, no preparation is required. However, if you have been referred for one of the following services it is likely you will be required to not eat anything and drink only water for six hours prior to your appointment:
- Aorto-iliac arteries
- Mesenteric arteries
- Renal arteries
- Ovarian veins / testicular vein
Specific information will be provided to you when you make your appointment.
